ABSTRACT: Fifty patient of leprosy have been screened for bacillaemia by buffy coat method. 20 cases (40 percent) showed bacillaemia and bacilli were found in monocytes and polymorph nuclear cells. In 4 cases bacilli were uniformly stained (believed to be the viable form). None of the patient towards tuberculoid spectrum showed bacillaemia. A definite correlation was observed between the bacterial index (BI) in the skin and detection of bacilli in the blood.

ABSTRACT: The efficacy and safety of once a day application of mometasone furoate 0.1 percent ointment in the treatment of moderate to severe chronic psoriasis was studied in 50 patients. Erythema, induration, and scaling together with physician's global evaluation during every weekly follow-up were the criteria of efficacy. Mometasone furoate was founds to be highly effective and safe.

ABSTRACT: Grinspan's syndrome as originally described is a triad of conditions, namely essential vascular hypertension, diabetes mellitus and lichen planus of the oral mucosa 1,2. Skin lesions of lichen planus, however, may or may not be associated and the syndrome may be a drug related phenomenon 3. A case recently seen by us is being reported.

ABSTRACT: Twenty-nail dystrophy (TND) is a rare disorder that has characteristic changes of all nails in the absence of skin changes 1. The nails are affected simultaneously and display opalescence, dullness, thinning, fragility and excessive longitudinal ridging. Because of rarity of this disorder and controversy surrounding its aetiopathogenesis, we herein describe a patient of TND who had associated mild ichthyosis and histopathogically showed eczematous changes of the nail matrix.

ABSTRACT: Various auto-immune diseases are known to coexist in the same individual and such association suggest that there could be a common background of immunological distrubance in such cases. Vitiligo has been reported to be associated with various autoimmune disorders from time to time 1-3 Similarly pemphigus vulgaris has also been reported to be associated with other auto-immune diseases4. We are herein reporting a case of vitiligo who developed the lesions of pemphigus vulgaris, a year later.

ABSTRACT: Delusional parasitosis is characterized by a single hypochondriocal, delusional system that the patient is infested with insects percent. It is one of the commonest presentation of monohypochondriacal psychosis which occurs in absence of any psychiatric illness; the onset being insidious and the course is chronic. It rarely vanishes spontaneously1. The present case was unusual in presentation as the delusion of parasitosis appeared suddenly in a depressive episode and responded well to amitriptyline.
